Reverse Engineering
3D scanning and CAD reconstruction to digitize existing components, even without an initial technical drawing.
reverse engineering
Reverse engineering allows you to transform a physical object into an editable digital model, even when there is no source CAD file. Through high-precision 3D scanning and subsequent surface reconstruction, we produce a model that faithfully reproduces the original geometry, ready to be modified, reproduced, or used as a production reference.
Depending on the complexity of the part and the final objective, the process may combine 3D scanning and manual measurement, always ensuring the level of accuracy required by the project.
areas of application
A versatile technology that comes in handy whenever you need to digitize, modify, or verify a physical component starting from scratch without any design information.
Reconstruction of parts that are no longer in production or for which no drawings are available
Digitizing existing models to make changes or variations
Quality control and dimensional comparison between the physical part and the original design
Capturing organic or complex shapes that are difficult to model from scratch
Creating a Digital Archive of Historic Models and Equipment
Why Choose Alma3D Lab
We combine 3D scanning with the CAD/CAM modeling expertise we’ve developed over more than thirty years in the industry. We don’t just capture the geometry—we reconstruct a file that’s truly usable for production, modification, or quality control, verifying every detail against the original part.
